    First tests with Kontakt 2.1

Finally I could download Kontakt 2.1 this morning (6.00 GMT which is very early in Austria & Germany, so I didn't have a problem with Native's upgrade page because most of the K2 users normally sleep at this time).

    I checked K2.1 with 2 orchestral scores,

    1) first the VSL from the Kontakt 2 Library, daw Overture 4, host forte
    Violins 1, Violins 2, Viola 1 & 2, Celli Basses
a own classical guitar instrument as an instrument bank with 4 instruments

result: it worked fine, the good news CPU load on the same PC 1/2
    compared with K2.0.2

    2) 6 instances of Vienna Instrument & Orchestral Strings I&II
    Violins 1, Violins 2, Viola 1 & 2, Celli Basses
    1 instance of K2.1
a own classical guitar instrument as an instrument bank with 4 instruments
    daw & host: overture 4

result: excelltent combination, max CPU load 9%

    Congratulations NI!!

Re: First tests with Kontakt 2.1

Thanks for the report Jovan. Was your test with VST or standalone?

I'm asking cause over here K2.0.2(cpu) works fine as standalone but is really bad as VST.

    Thanks!

Re: First tests with Kontakt 2.1

In both cases I used K2.1 as VST plugin.
With K2.0.2 & VST plugin I made the same expierience like you: heavy CPU load.
No more a problem with K2.1 until now.

    Hello Jovan,

can you drop a line about your pc hardware? Thanks in advance.

This machine is especially designed for the use with Gigastudio 3, but I also have K2.1 & Independence on it)

I'm a classical guitar player and composer & sampled my own guitar with all thinkable articulations in my studio & constructed libs for GS 2, K2.1 & Independence. Because I found the sound of RealGuitar, ViennaGuitar & PureGuitar too far away from the real classical guitar sound.

Two demonstration of the so called "Jovaluna Classical GigaGuitar":

    Jovan Pesec: Nightmare, concerto.4.guitar.&.orchestra
    2.movement: The Anxiety
(Overture 4, Gigastudio 3, Vienna Symphonic Library)

    http://music.v4m.net/ove4/2_TheAnxiety_ove4_GS3.mp3

    Johann Nepomuk Hummel: concerto.4.guitar.&.orchestra
    (arranged by Jovan Pesec)
    3.movement: Rondo
(Overture 4 on Laptop, Kontakt 2.0.2 (in a brainspawn forte
rack) on PC in Vienna with
Vienna Symphonic Library, both connected via MidiOverLan)

    http://music.v4m.net/ove4/3_GrandConcerto_Rondo.mp3

"Jovaluna Classical GigaGuitar" is not finished until now. I'm still working on it.

    Hope that helps,

Re: First tests with Kontakt 2.1

    Hello Jovan,

many thanks for the infos. My pc hardware is less efficiently, so I guess the Kontakt update won't make this big difference in performance (the cpu load isn't halved).

Very good compositions and renditions, you're on the right way with your library I think. Round-Robin is probably one thing missing at the moment.

Yes, the missing Round-Robin & some kind of articulations are the missing features at the moment, but I'm working on it.
