Well, I'm starting to realize that I went a little overboard when I sold all of my rack gear and went totally virtual. I'm happy with software effects for most everything, but I'm finding that I probably need an outboard compressor for recording vocals and acoustic guitars with zero-latency monitoring.
I'm strictly a one-man studio operation, so I only need one channel and not a lot of bells and whistles. The Samson C-com Opti looks like it would do nicely, but I was wondering if anybody has any experience with this unit or with Samson gear in general. Or, failing that, anybody have other recommendations for a small, basic compressor for computer-based recording?
