    TBO and then.....

    Remember the naming contest? http://www.northernsounds.com/forum/...ad.php?t=44712

Anyway, here's the first demos made by this new piano.
    It's Yamaha C7 grand!
    93 samples/recorded note, no loops
Recorded using a pair of vintage Neumann U89 to capture a bit more ambience and a slightly mellower sounding piano.

Here you go, (you might want to change/add some new name suggestions after hearing this!)

Stella by Starlight - performed by Richard Krull
Christmas Time is Here - performed by Sue Keller
    Adagio Cantabile
    Wild Rose

There are some clicks on some attacks in the higher velocity layers. They will be removed before releasing!
No effects was used on the demos what so ever.

    That's a big mellow one !

Sounds good, this more ambient miking gives a good sense of piano body warm breath.

In your recording, the left-right balance seems inverted compared to TBO (bass coming from the right)

Will be hard to resist again....

Did you record "ambient impulses" too ?

BOB - The Big One Brother
Alternatively, your can call this piano a BOMB... The Big One Mellow Brother !

sounds cool Worra. any chance of a more staccato and dynamic demo, to see how flexible it is?

This absolutely fools me (the Sue Keller demo).

I am very tired this morning but even if I was not I don't think I would be able to tell that is a sampled piano.

Absolutely realistic to me. Someone might have a different preference in what they want in a piano sound however I think that nails the "realistic" thing big time.

    Amazing work Worra :-)

By the way, some of the levels are very low.

    Once again though, absolutely amazing.

The piano sounds great but the "Adagio Cantabile" and "To a wild rose" are definitely at the wrong pitch.

Can that be corrected at all?

As an fyi, I recorded that demo for Worra a few years ago using his White Grand giga 2.54 library. Which at the time broke new ground with it's 16 velocity layers and Sue used this piece to explore most of them. I gotta say, the piece renderd with this new library sounds so good I almost want to run out and re-record the CD it appears on. Nice work, Worra!
