    Thank you very much.
Thanks for listening, Paul, though I must differ with you. This is definitely more a matter of sweat, sweat and more sweat than it is one of talent... lol.

This one really made me work hard.

The exposition, by the way -- more apparent, I'm sure, when I have the score ready [soon] -- is not only tonal, but almost a strettoed double fugal structure (in the strings). It's the "outrigger" work riding over the top of it, I think, that gives it the feel of serialism.

I do hear definite structure. I didn't mean to imply otherwise, and I don't think that conflicts with what I was getting at. I was talking about the quick unpredictable flow of ideas. I certainly don't mean that in a negative way. I compare it to a silo full of water that's being pushed by tremendous pressure through a small hole. The setup is completely structured, yet the spray of water, while all ultimately leading in one direction, is fantastically unpredictable.

I think the reverb has a long lush tail that may not be too natural. I like the sound of it, but my ear keeps telling me this is not a real hall. I only mentioned it because I wondered if it were deliberate. I often purposefully process effects in an unnatural way if it serves the music better. What reverb are you using?

    David,
Your music has a quality that reminds me of of the stalwart individuals who settled New England. People who hacked out an existance from the wilderness and settled down to do things their way. People who were quiet and thoughtful but didn't hestitate to join a revolution.

    Congrats, David!

I was one of those who got to hear this as it progressed.... I've been waiting eagerly to hear the finished product, and I'm not disappointed!

I've listened to nearly everything David has posted, and I must say that (at least to me) his style is always recognizable (and arresting!). There is so much mediocre music written these days, it is refreshing to come across a composer like David who never ceases to surprise and amaze me with his inventiveness.

On an urelated note, my apologies for my absence from the forum of late - my schedule has been NUTZ for the last few weeks, and I have also been dealing with back spasms (ouch) so I've not had the time to interact with you all or give you any contributions to listen to. I'll be back... I promise!

    Congrats again, David my friend!

    Wow,!... and double Wow's!!

    this was amazing work, David!

Your title is perfectly fitting... you made it so easy to visualize this manifestation of Light. The reverb setting was perfect.

I especially like the distant high octave strings during the beginning.. almost had a sense of screaming in vast emptiness....that was chilling. (cool!)

As always your work explodes with so much urgency.... ideas and imagery fly in all directions... but yet it's all part of the same core structure.

Love the ending! As though all this energy expended it's source and slowly faded away.

    Bravo!!

    You truly inspire me!

    BRAVO

    Wonderful. I absolutely adored it.!!

If I could only use one word to define the Sosnowski style it would be ....Clarity.

Here we have passages which are occasionally dense and murky, and yet the feeling of clarity persists. I now realise that what I have been picking up on, is clarity of thought, rather than clarity of texture.

The usual Sosnowski hallmarks are there ;scintillating woodwind writing, fascinating piano work that effortlessly pulls focus from ensemble instrument to fully-fledged soloist. What seems new to me is the extra weight given to the strings.

I love this widening of your string writing. It adds a lot of passion and depth to the mix.(Superb job on the rendering of them bye the way). The trumpet writing is quite breathtaking at times. It seems to teeter on the edge of hysteria, exuberant and ebullient. Dizzie Gillespie compared to your Milesian treatments of the past.I also loved your rather heroic French Horn writing.

You offer many different views of light here. From a veiled unfolding to an adamantine brilliance. This is light that is in love with its shadow, and shines all the brighter because of this.

You see David, I take my role as the official Sosnowski interpreter seriously. .

Many congratulations on a superb achievement.

    regards Joe

Thumbs up Re: THE REALIZATION OF LIGHT - Symphony Orchestra (Sosnowski)

As usual your piano writing is excellent, but I find it also very well blended in the orchestral colours.

Harmony and equilibre of language are now naturally exploited. Nice goal.

    Thank you, Louis!

That mix had me worried, but so far so good. I agree with Jamie (Skysaw), though, that it has perhaps a little too much "tail" on the reverb.
