    What's In Your Local Newpaper?

It's been a busy news week here on Orcas. Here are some items from this weeks local paper:
From the Front Page: Two Calves Born to Local Orcas - K-28, a southern resident killer whale is a mom at age 11...

From the Island Living Section: Solar Hugs and Sun-Kissed Fun - Coverage of the Summer Solstice Parade marking the start of tourist season....

Entertainment: Borealis String Quartet performing at the Orcas Center...

Sheriff's Log: June 30: About 30 fir trees were cut down without permission...
What's Happening according to your local paper?

Editorial. Having an 80,000 seat NASCAR race track in the neighborhood would turn our county into a hellhole.

Well I was trying to get it out of the cage to take a look, but the birds kept biting me. Apparently they get irritable if you wake them up.

Chandler City Council trying to rehire the city manager. He was highly respected by all his co-workers and was doing an excellent job for the city but 4 council members had their own agendas and let him go. 2 of the 4 council members were replaced.

9 restaurants to open in Town Square development (we love to go out and eat here and these are just a couple miles from my house).

Chandler falls to the 9th fastest growing city in the US.
