    Bach's Brandenburg Concerto #3 - Trevor Rutkowski

Trevor Rutkowski has just sent in a fabulous rendition of the third movement of Bach's Brandenburg Concerto #2

Here's the link in MP3 format: (thanks etLux for converting this)

    http://www.garritan.com/mp3/tbr-Brandenburg_3_Mvt_1.mp3

And here's the link in WMA format: (you'll need Windows Media)

    http://www.garritan.com/mp3/tbr-Brandenburg_3_Mvt_1.wma

Here are the instruments Trevor used:
    - Piccolo Trumpet with vibrato
    - Solo Flute with vibrato
    - Modern Oboe 3 (tried it with the classical, but it didn't quite give the nasal punch for Baroque)
    - Stradivari Violin
    - Sus + Short Violins I, II, Viola, Celli and DB
    - Solo Celli 2 and 3
    - Harpsichord

This is an exellent realization of this Bach masterpeice. Expertly done and well mixed too. I will be listening to this many times this weekend!

Thanks Trevor for sharing this with us.

PS: If anyone can convert this to mp3 please do so and more people can enjoy this. EDIT: Done! thanks etLux

It is indeed a wonderful realization--but it's not the first movement of the third Brandenburg. It's the third movement of the second Brandenburg.

I oughtta know, as I'm working on the first movement of the third concerto (for strings and continuo) even as we speak!

Red face Re: Bach's Brandenburg Concerto #3 - Trevor Rutkowski

Zach is right. I e-mailed Gary to correct my mistake. It was late when I finished this. I have a book of Brandenburg scores 1 - 5 and I was on the last page of the #2 and looked at the title of #3. I hope you can still enjoy it with a bad title! C'est la vie.

Thanks for your feedback. I appreciate it!

    Best regards,

    Trevor

    Trevor,

Nice rendering of the Brandenburg. Never an easy task to pull off!!
