    Mozart Fugue - GPO Steinway Duo

    Hi Everyone

    This little fugue by Mozart has stayed with me since my youth, when I used to play it very often with friends. It is simply a delightful piece with a theme that tents to get stuck in one's head ......

    I arranged this for the GPO Steinway Duo and recorded it in Overture4. I hope you will enjoy listening to it .

    Ahhh! A wonderful way to start my Sunday morning, Louis;
    listening with affection to this old friend to my fingers.

    Beautifully done, Louis; fine interpretation, with very clear
    entries and exposition of the thematics... a piece of fine
    crystal to admire.

    I'll have this looping for a while, you can be sure.

    All my best,

    Delightful work! This is a wonderful piano rendition. I love the sound of the GPO Steinway, and this is simply wonderfully performed. What a catchy theme, and what great counterpoint! This is the first time I've heard this piece, thanks for the introduction! Great work!

    Sincerely,
    Thanks for commenting. I certainly is a very beautiful piece, only Mozart can make something so incredibly complex sound so simple.

    Thanks for listening . The answer to your question is both yes and no: I used the original score, which is scored for two pianos, and entered the notes into Overture4 using both the mouse and my midi keyboard at different places. I'm not exactly a pianist of note, so I entered each voice of the fugue on seperate staves. Of course using the keyboard saves a lot of time, because you don't have to edit the velocity data like when you use the mouse to enter notes.

    I'm glad you listened. I tell you, I have studied Mozart's works extensively for countless years, and there are still works I have to get to ..... I believe it's almost impossible for one person to study all his works thoroughly even in a lifetime.... and he barely lived for 30 years .....

    I would bet that Beethoven came close to it. He certainly did it with Bach. Anyhow, I really enjoyed your rendering of the Fugue very much. Thanks!!!!
