New Symphonic Movement for the Virtual Orchestra

    Hello!

I recently finished the 1st movement of a new large work for the virtual orchestra. This is also the first piece using VSL, which I got in February.

It is the first piece on this webpage:

There are a few other compositions on the same page.

Thank you for taking the time to listen.

    Hello there,

I'm enjoying this quite a bit. The developent sections are wonderful-- kind of symphonic round robins with each instrument getting a few bars in the spotlight.

I imagined this to be the opening music to a sci-fi/western--more overture than symphonic movement--to me--hence my "cinematic reverie"...

Nothing sounded quantized--though it's all got a strong pulse running through it and could very easily have sounded so.

Very nice! I'll be checking out more of your work.

    Mike

Jerry, nice work. I enjoyed the transitions you built up between phrases. Really interesting. Some great voice leading, and you've been deft of touch with the blend of tone colour, both in harmony and rhythm. I can hear a lot of 20th century classic in this, but certainly not in any plagaristic level, rather a development.
    I'm impressed.

    Admiration and Respects,

    Alex.
