This is the main theme from the music I did for stage production of Sleuth in San Diego. The main themes I do for stage plays have to be mood-setting "quick hitters" -- usually thirty seconds to a minute, more on rare occasions, since they are played with the audience sitting in blackout just before curtain.
The director wanted a "light-hearted murder mystery" feel to the music.
Originally done on my hardware synths, I "Garritanized" this with all-GPO, with the exception of a little bit of the original Roland JV voices (we need Garritan choirs!).
Very cool and clever piece. You hit the thematic idea right on the head and right from the beginning!!! I think that the GPO worked well for you too.
Thanks very much, Gary! Using GPO on this really did bring out the soloistic strength of pretty much any individual instrument in the library. As I gain experience with them, I'm increasingly impressed with the capabilities of my Garritan toys.
