Ultimate Orchestral Percussion - strange pricing

    Hi,

does anyone know why Christian/Lane Ultimate Orchestral Percussion for GS 2.5 sells for $99 at Amazon and some other places and $240 upwards in other ?

Some talk about a 4 CD-Package, others do not detail how many CDs the offer contains.

Has anyone bought a <100$ version and can tell how it is ?

Wow... that is REALLY a remarkable price.

And, I did not even know that Amazon.com sold "Sample CDs".

Great opportunity to pick-up an awesome orchestral percussion libraby, at a super price !

    Just curious.

OMG... it's even cheaper at bhphotovideo.com

Does anyone know if this terrific orchestral percussion library is being discontinued?

I wonder why it is being offered at such a wonderfully low price?

Looks like it's time to pull out the old VISA credit card, once again !!!

If so, perhaps they are blowing out the Giga 2.5 version in light of people wanting Giga 3/Kontakt 2 versions.

I'm not familiar with UOP. I have True Strike, though. Is there anything in UOP that isn't covered in True Strike? If so, I might consider picking this up.

Well, back in 2000, Bruce Richardson was impressed:

PS: I broke down and bought it. I always liked the sound of orchestral percussion with (progish) rock. I hope its works well with my sfz+ (with giga 2.5 support)

It's still a nice library...it could use more layers, but so could every other orchestral percussion library in existence. I don't know why people consistently under-sample percussion. Even VSL's percussion instruments are woefully undersampled, to the point of being almost unusable in any kind of exposed setting. Sixteen layers should be considered the bare minimum, and even that is low for some percussion instruments.

Has anyone found a demo of this lib?

    Bruce ... I couldn't find "March of the 3 ...."
    Is it still posted anywhere?

    Thanks,
