Hi GPO Folks,
Dag Wirén (October 15, 1905 – April 19, 1986) was a fabulous Swedish composer.
His most famous work was his Serenade for Strings (Op.11). Be aware though that he also composed 5 symphonies, some string quartets, numerous orchestral pieces, and many film scores.
This post is from his "Serenade for Strings (Op.11)" - the "March", arranged for *complete orchestra* by a good friend in the UK, George Pollen.
George was gracious enough to allow me to use his arrangement of this work to render into a very listenable piece of music. It was fun to render, trying to decide which samples sound best.
Of course, GPO won out on most of 'em.
