    Wowsers!!! Looks like a lot of them are more for sympathetic sounding, or just tuned to chords, than to really play melodies on. Then again, i have seen fretless guitars before, so I suppose he could play it. I'd LOVE to see a video of this being played!

    The guitar was built for Pat Metheney, and he has played it on various recordings. Just recently he appeared on the Ramsey Lewis program on PBS and he opened one of his songs with an unaccompanied 42-string intro.
