    Talking Me playing Bach

    Hi all,

I thought I would post here a "recording" of me playing on my little church organ here in Iceland.

I added small reverb on it because unfortunatly the Church is completely without accoustic.

I'm playing the Dorian toccata and the D-minor fugue which comes with THE d-minor toccata.

Btw. sorry for the low quality of recording (Recorded with mobile phone) and also I didn't have any help to turn the pages so I needed to worry about that too. hehee ...

    Falcon,

Very cool. What is the maker of the organ? Maybe we can get it added into the next GPO upgrade.

Where in Iceland is this instruement? I visted
Reykjavík some time ago and was really charmed by the place.

The organ is made by Icelandic organ builder called Björgvin. It's located in my church in Faskrudsfjordur which is on the east coast of Iceland. Unfortunatly the church doesn't have good accoustic.

Did you see the organ in Hallgrimskirkja?
    Sincerely,
    Falcon1

    Falcon1,

That was recorded with a mobile phone? I could tell that it was low-fi... but I didn't realize!! Pretty impressive tone for such a tiny, low quality mic!

Well done!!! even with all the page turns!

    Thanks Prowland.

yes, used my phone Sony Ericsson K750i. Maybe I should have tried to locate it little further away but it's still amazingly good.

    Re: Me playing Bach

That was really.. refreshing! Great to hear some Bach being played live, love the bright 'chiffy' sound of that organ - never sure that the organist's perspective is the best place for a microphone though!
It's a well known secret that I was destined for the organ loft before rock-n-roll and commercial music intervened, so you've made me want to dust off the organ works and get back in there. Well done!
Mind you. I said that to GaryBric and STILL haven't had time to get round to it!
    Thanks Falcon1

Recorded with a mobile phone! My heavens! Hey Falc,
sneak a digital recorder in there sometime, will you? Would
love to hear these in, well, at least higher-fi... lol.

    Well done!

Thank you for your comments BarrieB and etLux.

Etlux, maybe I should sneak in a page turner too

Hopefully I'll be able to buy microphone(s) around Christmas time then I'll have fun recording.
    Sincerely,
    Falcon1
