Hi - was wondering if anyone had a chance to use Yellow Tools and Kontakt2 on the same system? I am wondering about memory - does YT handle memory allocation better, or are the two about the same performance-wise?
I'm using Kontakt2 and Yellow Tools Culture within Cubase SX3 without problems.
Note this is using Culture only--not with the Independence sampler.
Hope this helps,
I think you might have better luck on the yellow tools forum for this info.
One deal to look for is if you buy Culture or Majestic and upgrade for little money to the full feature sampler Independence. I own Independence and Majestic myself and can tell you they both sound really good. But i havent used independence enough to compare with other samplers. The main problem i see with Independence for now is that it doesn't seem to have a lot of lib develope for it...
Let me know if you cant ask questions on their forum and I'll ask for you.
Thanks for the replies. What I am really wondering is if there is any performance differnce. ie - you load a multi in YT, and then load the same multi in Kontakt - is the performance the same? Does one use more cpu/ram than the other?
I can't see YT Culture in Kontakt--I think Yellow Tools Independence is needed to bring up YT sounds in a sampler. As geronimo001 was saying, Independence is a good cheap buy if you have Culture, Majestic, or Candy.
For what it's worth, I don't see a performance difference running Culture stand-alone or from Cubase.
