Nicolai Kapustin Prelude 2 (warning: high cholestrol!)

Since I am committed to increasing the waistlines of both et Lux and Tom H, I've prepared another Kapustin Prelude, this one is #2

Not as frenetic as #1, this is nevertheless a fun, bluesey romp

    Only 21 more to go....

By tomorrow morning?!!!! Unbelievable! If you keep this up you're going to get a nasty note from my cardiologist. We've worked hard to keep my weight and cholesterol low and then you single-handedly blow the whole program. I give up - they taste so good, keep 'em coming.

    EGAD!

No, not by morning - I actually have to sleep these days... Gone are the years of my early 20's when I could survive on 3-5 hrs of sleep a night <chuckle>

Seriously, I'm glad to have discovered this composer and his music - I've never heard such a perfect synthesis of Jazz and classical forms...

    More to come!

I've just had supper, and barely had room for this. Thank
heaven there weren't two of them, as I'd inevitably have
    wolfed down both.

My gosh, what a delectation of idiomatic perfusion! Sets
your heart right to pumping, it does; despite all the cholesterol.

Would love to see the score for this one, Jonathan!

    Best,

    Thanks, David!

I'm glad you like these... I know I have certainly found a new favorite composer!

What is amazing to me, is that I keep listening to these and finding MORE to like each time - the pieces are enjoyable on so many levels that one can delve deeper and find more with each hearing!

    Cheerio,

    Jon,
After several time outs I finally got this to download. Thank goodness I persevered. I've never been one to watch my caloric intake so...more! You're right, this is a wonderful fusion of jazz and romantic idioms.
