I was looking for demo of Giga Sampler v1.6
But I understand there is not one available
so I just took the plunge and bought LE with the special offer piano included.
I was just a little concerned about my system which is a PII 233 64 meg ram SCSI and UDMA hard drives. I want to run Giga in conjunction with Cakewalk 9.0
I plan to upgrade my memory to 128 meg.
So, do you think I have enough horse power ?
I have expanded my RAM to 324MB, and got my self a 27GB UDMA IBM 7200RPM hard drive, and I plan to expand it with a fast SCSI hard drive for audio hard drive multitracking.
It totaly depends on what you want and expect from your system.
Since working with libraries such as the AO, it takes a hard beat on the RAM.
So ask your self what you manly what to use your giga system for, and then browse through the northernsounds search topics, to find out what you want to know.
Since almost everything up to this date that has been developed for the GS has been discussed by competent musicians and every one else using the system, there is much info to collect.
Your system setup is absolutely fine, and you should not have any problems running the system with the LE.
Your choise of soundcard is alsoo an importante matter, which you can read about the compability on the NemeSys syte.
Hope this sheds some light on things.
