    Europe's 'Final Countdown'

    Hi all,

I need to do a remake of Europe's 'Final Countdown' for a client in the next day or two and am having trouble finding the right sounds for the job. I believe the classic synth-sound they used was a brass instrument on a Roland JX-8P keyboard. However, I don't have one of them and need a good alternative as soon as possible.

Any ideas on what I could use? The other instruments (I believe) are drums, bass, (heavy-ish) metal guitar and some sort of keyboard, all with tonnes of superb 80's-like reverb.

    Cheers

For the synth, try a JX8P and a sound called Polybrass 2

Have you first asked for permission by the publisher of the song? IMO (at least in my country) you cannot make a new public recording of an existing work without first obtaining clearance from the publisher.

I may be wrong, but I have once written a small hit in The Netherlands and I was not allowed to work on an international version without first getting permission from the publisher (EMI)

Dude - if that wasn't the best vocal performance of all time, I don't know what is. Now excuse me while I throw up.
