Yuck Dept: The Smells of the New York City

Gawker.com has introduced their New York City Subway Smell Map.

Created from reports sent in by Gawker readers, the map displays particular smells -- horrific and sublime -- encountered throughout New York's subway stations. At their site, mouse over any station to see the station name, subway lines, and types of smells to be found there.

I would suggest a similar system for New Orleans. But since Katrina, it's just too poignant to talk about.

Ah, yes ... Lackawanna, N.Y. where the old Bethlehem Steel Plant sits rusting away while all the carp they threw into the lake is oozing out of the shores. Only, we have one over that list ... Beefalo droppings!

You've guessed it! I had a big explanation but when I went to post, it all distapeared. (Dis-ta-peared) is the way my youngest son used to say it.
Anyway, I understand there are ranches that breed the crossbreed and restaurants that serve Beefalo! There are restaurants that also serve Buffalo a lone ( hence - Buffalone) Freaking crazy ) and it supposed to be quite good. I haven't tried it and probably never will.

We have buffalo ranchers here in Alberta. It's leaner than beef and much, much tastier without the weird "gaminess" of stuff like deer, etc.

There are certain areas of Terre Haute where we could use a similar system.
