    "Dueling Hands"

    Music People,

I wrote "Dueling Hands" this afternoon. It is technically difficult but certainly playable. I used the GPO Steinway piano.

I hope that you like it.

    My best to all,

    Thumbs up Re: "Dueling Hands"

    Hi Larry.

Even if I don't write comments frequently, you know that I listen to more or less all your works. And every time at least I enjoy it...

This time I write to thank you for checking my Xmas work, because your advice is very meaningful for me (a pure american arranger's advice..), but also because this little studio for piano has captured my attention: it is quite well written from a technical point of view, but also enjoyable to listen to.
That's what should make piano studio less tedious...

    all the best

    Fabio

Grazie, Fabio. I had Linguini before I wrote this.

I'm glad that you liked it. I suppose that it may have a little Italiano flavor to it.

    Technically difficult; but technically delightful!

This'd be a blast to play, Larry; I enjoyed it, doing
a little "air piano" as I listened...

Many thanks, Dave. I wrote it quickly...perhaps too quickly.

It felt "linguinistic". This is neat. Simple at best, but not exactly, seeing as the varying contrary and parallel motion occur at "random" times, giving it that all necessary sence of suprise. I like how you didn't sacrifice the left hand playing melodic lines, and keep it playing bass notes the whole time, like the occasions where just the left hand breaks into a measure full dance. Sweet! Can't wait to hear more neat stuff from you.

Thank you for the kind words, young man.

I see that you are a tuba enthusiast. Do a search on this forum for my "Tuba Or Not Tuba (That Is The Question)" and my "Rhapsody For Tuba" if you wish.

    Best regards,

    Larry

    Re: "Dueling Hands"

He did it again!!! Together with that previous piece, why don't you start an "exercise book" for the more skilled amateurish pianist? This last one is really outstanding.
