    Smile German Waltz

Here's an Oktoberfest song written in November. (oops, a little late)

This is just a fun short piece that I did this weekend just to work on some technique skills in GPO and Tracktion. I thought some of you might enjoy hearing it!

Hey, maybe I could get a Hofbrau Haus band to play this!

    German Waltz

    Enjoy!

Hehe, as a german I can say your piece is fun, RichR.

However one should eventually take some more care about the upbeats - maybe shorten some of them and also do not make them equal. More like ... one, bap, baa ..

Also it adds very much drive if you pull the two just a little ahead of the time, and a little louder than the three. And follow the overall envelope with the dynamics.

Greetings from the land of ump, bap, baa ....

Great comment Hannes! You are right, of course. I knew that and did it when playing in some bands. I will take your suggestion to heart and play with it a little bit. The piece was just for fun, but it might as well be right!

    Thanks

    Thumbs up Re: German Waltz

Ok, we try to do country music, they are in the right doing a German Waltzer or an Italian Song...

Not so bad for oversea people... Yes it may sound great with very little modification, the mix is already good and fun.

    Richard,

What a fun piece...certainly in keeping with your intent of an Oktoberfest song. Nice application of the GPO instruments as well.

Love it! So simple, yet I never get tired of them.

If you're still in a German mood, you might try the Biergarten Mazurka I posted about a year ago...

    Re: German Waltz

It makes me long for October as we're experiencing wet winter weather in the PNW.

It has a nice melody. Sounds good.

I down loaded the Tracktion demo just to check it out .

Thanks for the comments, Fabio. It was just a fun piece and yes you are right! Us oversea people don't quite feel a German waltz or an Italian song like a native would, but it's still fun to write.

Gary, thanks for the comments. They are apreciated!

Dargason, I'm listening to your mazurka as I type this. It definitely has the flavor of a good old Oktoberfest. Thanks for your comments.

fastlane, tracktion takes a little getting used to, but it is powerful in many ways, especially for the price. Thanks for your comments.
