    OT Some Advice Please!

Sorry for the OT post but could anyone help me with this? I want to replace my Echo Mia with a more pro soundcard and was looking at these two units

    the Presonus Firepod:

    http://presonus.com/firepod.html

    or the EMU 1616M

    http://www.emu.com/products/product....&product=15189

They are both close to $500 (I'd need to buy a firewire card for the Presonus). Would latency be more of an issue with the Presonus because it is fire wire? (The EMU is PCI) I have been a big EMU fan from the old days and I like that the 1616M comes with the DSP efeects and the Proteus LE software etc. It seems to have all of the stuff I need in terms of inputs and outputs. If you have any experience with this gear (or a better alternative in the 4-500 hundred range please let me know. I have had no problems with my MIA but it seems like this may be a weak link in my system. (I'm also hoping to not have to use my mixing board as it is "cheap and huge"!

    Any help would be appreciated!

    All the very best,

What about the Echo Layla 3G? That is what I am using (although I did step up the D/A with a LavryBlack DA10.)
