    New Violin construction methods

    Here's an interesting article in the New York Times about new methods of constructing violins - very interesting.

    Not sure this link will work but you'll find it in the Science under the title "String Theory"

    Thanks for the tip! The link worked just fine.

    Very interesting, I think as a pure amateur in these matters.

    As I've understood it, in the Garritan Strad, IRs are responsible for replicating the sound and response of the body itself. How about some new IRs from carefully picked balsa/carbon fibre prototypes to marry bleeding edge technology with the venerable Strad?
