Doepfer R2M Ribbon Controller - Questions

I would like to use a ribbon controller and I see this : http://www.doepfer.de/home_e.htm

    - Is it good ?
    - Where can we find another similar hardware ?

    Thank you !

    Watch the trombone video:

Its really fun to play with the ribbon.
After one hour "learning curve" (I hate this word) you should be able to play like I played the trombone.
I used it only to control pitch, but there is another aftertouch feature which could control a second controller at the same time.
It helps if you spread the pitch range of your instruments and make some markers on the ribbon.
It is also great for vibrato and trills on strings, pedal steel guitars or any other instrument.

As far as I know there is no other ribbon controller at that price.
There was a kurzweil ribbon that is not on sale anymore.

Re: Doepfer R2M Ribbon Controller - Questions

The R2M is a midi controller
the A-198 is an analog controller for Doepfers A-100
I'm sure, the ribbon technique is the same.
