Just wondering if some of you go through this...

Do your clients make your composing better or worse? Do they know enough about music to give good solid, legitimate, direction or are they wanna-be's that "will know it when they hear it"?

Does their critique lead you down a better path that ends with superior results or does it lead you to a pile of sonic garbage?

I rarely write music for money but do 3D design and animation and have found over the years that, aside from people that do what I do (fellow designers musicians, etc), most clients have a ton of "ideas" and "direction" and that most of it is ... bad. Most os their thoughts are ideas I have already discarded because of "it wasn't working" "not enough budget" "etc"

Just wondering if any of you have better experiences.

All the very best,
