ASIO vs. Core Audio on Mac

The Strad 2/K2 manual says that you should have the choice of ASIO or Core Audio when you do the Audio Setup. In my case the only choice is Core Audio. Is that a function of the external sound module's drivers or is something wrong in K2 itself?

There's no ASIO in Mac OS X, only Core Audio.
