    first attempt by number6

    hi everyone...
just got my gpo in the mail today...and am i ever pleased.

i had this solo dobro piece sitting on my daw that i thought needed some cello, and after goofing around with the different instruments, i settled on english horn and bassoon.

thus begins the learning curve. the beauty is that it ain't half bad out of the box...i did no tweaking to the sounds at all, just a little mod wheel...

if you have a minute, please stop by my music site

I'd never have thought dobro would blend so well with english horn and bassoon... I like it, and it doesn't sound as a first attempt, it might be the final version

    Hey number 6!!!

    Welcome to the forum!

WOW - this was a fun piece to listen to! I never would have imagined this instrumental combination before - but it works well! Yet another testament to GPO's versatility.

nice work. Thanks for sharing this.

Didn't know what a dobro was. Found it in Wikipedia.
Nice piece, though.... Now you see, there is always anything to learn in this "listening room".

And it also speaks well for the versatility of the dobro...

Really nice dobro songs on your website, number6. Thank you!

    Welcome aboard, Geoff!

This is very well done... a great combination
of instruments (not to mention fine material).

I listened through this a few times... very
satisfying music, and I love the sound of
this combination... nice shot on this one!

Thumbs up Re: first attempt by number6

I'm loving it. I want more. The combination of instruments is very spiritual. You are talented enough to write much more. I need more. Get to work.
Only seven claps for you because it left me want more.

Hi, this is a very nice piece--very enchanting. The combination of instruments works very well. Very nice 1st effort with GPO. One thing you might try is adding a small amount of reverb to the english horn and bassoon parts just to add a little more ambience. I really like this.
