Error loading samples in GS3 after ram added

Hi guys!

I recently added 1 GB ram to my GS3 machine (now total 2 GB). After that everytime when I load samples past around 30% of the available memory, an error occurs when I try to load more instruments. The loaded samples all sound fine. The system has confirmed that there is 2 GB ram. All the other programs work fine. Would it be ram problems that are unique in GS3? How can I confirm that?

Without any more specifics (e.g., the exact error message you see, the library, instrument name and size of the samples that you are trying to load, the value of msg32.exe when the error occurs, etc.), the best advice I can give you is to check out this thread, which refers to two other threads which may address your problem:

Hi:

There are memory setting within gigastudio that needs to be set. Click on file, system setting, troubleshoot, configure, and then experiment with the memory presets. There are also virtual memory tweaks that you can set in windows XP. For example you can try setting the limits to 1.5 times your ram size for the lower and upper values. There are also other windows XP tweaks that you can do to your PC to optimize it, if you have not done that yet. Just do an internet search for Daw optimization.
