Hi, I知 not sure if I should buy a 64bit system or a 32bit system. I know Cubase 4 has a 64bit version, I知 not sure about Cubase sx3 though. I have read that GS3 has only a 32bit version. I知 not sure about GVI.
I was just wondering if it is possible to run GS3 or GVI on a 64bit machine. Basically can you run a 32bit application on a 64bit system, if yes, can you run Cubase on 64bit and simultaneously run lets say GVI or GS3 on the same project on the same machine.
Also, I知 not sure if it is a good time to purchase a system with Win XP. Since Vista is out and I have read about their effort to make it easier for the music softwares. On the other hand I知 not sure when will softwares like GS3 be ready or upgrade for use on Vista. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. I知 really confused about buying a new system which I really need right now.
Both run fine on 64-bit processors. But for 64-bit Windows, go with GVI. Tascam claims that their latest GVI update has been fully tested with 64-bit Windows. I'm pretty sure that GS3 won't run on 64-bit windows as it runs at the Kernel level, like a driver. If you run Vista in 64-bits, all of its drivers must be 64-bits.
