    Talking Salt Penuts-Dizzy Gillespie

Here's a piece i arranged for brass quintet using sibelius and GPO.
I hope you like it, i wanted to write an arrangment for jazz using GPO instead of JABB.
    As alway's comments are welcome!

Nice stuff Dan but, ease off a little on the reverb. close your eyes and imagine the size of room your bands playing in eg. a full orchestra wouldn't be in a garage or a five piece in a basket ball arena, well maybe I'm wrong on the second count.

    Hi Ray,
Thank's for your comment, reverb is my biggest problem when writing music!!
This is only a test score that i use for dynamics when writing for other scores and for testing different instruments.
If you have writen anything for a small ensemble i would like to hear it and compare dynamics and reverb.
    Dan.

as I said, close your eyes and imagine the room your musicians are playing in and adjust accordingly.
i have a great recording of this track performed by the Don Jacoby Allstars College Jazz Band in the late fifties. magic!!!!!

What web plug-in are you using to play these? I'm using Safari on a Mac, and none of the songs show up...

Some nice work in this, JBD... interesting, has
good moves, and some real ingenuity.

The standard advice on reverb: Start with
none. Slowly bring it up until you think it's
right. Then back it off a little... lol.

Reverb is probably the trickiest part of the
whole game, Dan -- I don't know anyone
starting off who doesn't struggle with it...
    me most definitely included.

    My best,

    David
