    Vanilla (JABB)

Had a few hours free so I made this little ditty:

Everything's JABB apart from the bass and guitar (me). The distortion on the guitar is NOT software emulation.

Similar to the last song I posted, I open the song up with a solo guitar riff.

    Enjoy!

I've had a quick listen to your track before going to work this morning and wonder about what you're highlighting. Your guitar and bass playing completely swamp the horn section, not usually the case when listening to a live set. Please can I hear some more of these horns which I'm sure are good.

Greg, great fusion writing! I agree with Ray that the brass might come more upfront a bit, but I like it, and the guitar distorted sound and bass playing are just perfect...

    Okay, I fixed the levels:

The reason was when I record guitar or bass, I turn the volume up so I can concentrate on the nuances of the instrument. Apparently my ears got used to them being at that level and I forgot to turn them back down.

    This is a nice chart!

I'll be humming this the rest of the day. On my headphones though the horns were still a bit low in the mix... could just be my rig

I made a big mistake. I changed the url in my posts, but the actual HTML link led to the same MP3! That's why it didn't sound any different. I just fixed it.

Playing and recording bass has been really fun, I'm almost tempted to start doing online session bass work...

Great! Strange thing, and with Bob Katz I agree, a distortion sometimes sounds great and very musical. Now I have enough musical food for the rest of the morning..... thank you.

Thanks! So I guess I need to add a sax solo or something, and then vamp that end melody for a long time, and it'll be stuck in our heads for weeks...

Now your cooking, I like it very much, I love crunch guitar. What processors are you using creating your sound, I use a Line 6 POD AC30 mode with a strat.
