    DirectGuitar

I just received this and have playing around with it this morning. Another no-brainer at this price IMHO. With Logic's Guitar Amp Pro I was getting some nice stiuff. Then on a jazzy one I added my UAD-1 LA2a and magic!

There is also a Lite version but for $20 more I say go for the full.

    Jay,

How does it work with regards to articulations; do you have to open a separate instance of EXS for each articulation, or does it have keyswitching of some sort? Thanks...

It doesn't really have articulations as such, it is very basic but good sound and at that price tough to beat.. Visit the website.

    Re: DirectGuitar

    Jay,

My visit to their site is what prompted the question. It says:

    Clean Bridge
    Distortion Bridge
    Harmonics Distortion Bridge
    Jazz Pickup
    Funky Blues
    Mid Pickup
    Sledge Pickup
    Jimmy Gilmour Solo
    Jimmy Gilmour Glissaded
    Mute funky
    Mute Sledge
    Chords
Given that list, could you kindly explain further? Thanks.

    Re: DirectGuitar

Well I wouldn't call these different articulations, more just different sampled sounds.

And no AFAIK there is no keyswitching although you could set it up in Redmatica's new Keymap pretty easily if you wanted to.

OK Jay, I'm gonna give this library a shot; though I suspect that I'll probably end up having to buy a soft-guitar effects rack before long. How's the guitar amp simulator that comes with Logic? What other good guitar effects do folks recommend?

Decent. Not as good as N.I.'s Guitar Rig, better than UA's Nigel.

Hmmmm. The hardware component of Guitar Rig makes it pretty expensive. Are there any decent cheaper alternatives?

Journeyman are you a Logic user? If so try Guitar Amp Pro and see if it works for you. I certainly would call it "decent".
