    Bassoon players... help!!

In order to get the best out of a bassoon and to avoid unrealistic score writing I really want to know how much air is needed to get

12 notes 1/16 length at the tempo of 160 bpm at volume f or ff; midi note value = B2 (where C3 is the middle note).

can this all be done within one breath?

From that I can derive other values and scores, without being accused of killing bassoon players

I haven't played bassoon in a long, long time, but if you mean 12 - 16th notes at 160 BPM, then yes, there would be enough breath. I'm not sure that at my skill level, I could have tongued notes that fast, though, but I was a very low level player.

If you mean 12 measures of 16th notes, I would not have been able to play that in one breath.
