Recommend a Piano for Giga 2?

    Hi,

I'm looking for an other piano that will work with Giga 2.54.
I like the tone of the original giga piano but I need more velocity layers.

    Recommendations would be appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Steve,
I recently purchased the "Black Grand" from Sampletekk. Its fantastic Steinway. I think its 16 velocities per note for both up and down pedal...and it sounds phenomenal. Just my two cents.

    Hi Ron,

I've not found that one in Giga 2 format. Have you seen it in Giga 2?

    Thanks,

I like the Post Bos 290. It's very neutral. The demo version in GS3 is pretty light. Hopefully there's a version in GS2 format. Worra (Sampletek) carries it now.

Do you mean the PMI 290 as opposed to the Emperor?

Both are available as Giga 2.

    thanks

    Thanks,
    Steve,
These are the requirements I found at Sampletekk's website:

    " Gigastudio 2/3, Kontakt or HALion 2.0/3.0 16 or 24 bit
" System minimum (16 bit version): Pentium III 800 GHz with 1 Gb RAM
" System minimum (24 bit version): Pentium IV 1GHz with 1.5Gb RAM
" Recommended: Pentium IV 1.4GHz with 1.5Gb RAM
    " DVD Reader

So it looks like giga 2 will work fine.

    Best,

    -Ron

    Thanks Ron,

Where I saw the problem was when choosing a format to purchase.
Giga 2 wasn't in the drop down list for anything listed as Black Grand.

    Dear Steve

Try sending a PM or email Per (Worra) directly. That's how I bought my BG and WG from him too.

    Cheers,

    Thanks everyone.

After listening to any demos I could find I ordered the PMI 290.

    Steve,

You made a very good choice. I have the PMI Boesendorfer 290, it is my favorite piano.
