It Was A Very Good STRAD (first effort)

I quickly converted this little piece to a STRAD melody line ten minutes out of the box. I love it.

Gorgeous, Ray--I love it too, what you've done with the Strad and the entire arrangement. Wonderful.

Lovely, sensitive, arrangement . And the Strad, for 10 minutes experience with it.. bravo! (Actually, if you listen carefully, it is already sounding better towards the end of the piece than it did at the beginning. I wonder what the next take would have sounded like! )

    Thanks for listening in Randy,
I've been waiting for weeks on my Strad, the retailer was out of stock but their price was so good I had to wait. It's so good it's just muddied the water for what I do next. So many toys in the one room . Gorgeous indeed!

    Cheers

Thanks indeed for your comments on this piece.
I arranged and recorded it back in January using just GPO violin for the solo, thinking at the time what it might sound like with the strad. I converted cc1 to cc11 then dropped the velocity in all notes, applied vibrato real time during playback and as you say by the time I edited through lengthening some notes and dropping the velocity in others real low for portamento. With more time I'll also ride the fader on the track to recreate the voilinists swaying movement while playing expressively.

    Regards

... out of the box in ten minutes.....??????

What if you have some ten minutes more.... it adds up and this is already nice to listen to. Hey, folks can we have a benefit concert for gathering a bunch of "ten minutes" for this guy!!! He is making good music.

I started the conversion 10 minutes out of the box but it took me an hour for my first remix. I've tweaked the strad a little more this evening

    Thanks Raymond,

    Beautiful arrangement of this, Ray!

As this matures into the latter section -- quite stunning!
