    Congratulations Randy

Terrific work on OC11 and excellent theme for OC12. This is going to be a very interesting, fun and worthwhile challenge.

Thanks to all those who have participated and to wrayer for OC11.

Is it me or do you folks just get better and better with each challenge?

the whole tone scale is the "Meanwhile..." sound. you should try it - get either a harp or piano sound then say "Meanwhile" and play the whole tone scale right after. i guarantee you'll laugh.

    Here's another rub: There are only two whole-tone scales (C, D, E, F#, G#, A#; and Db, Eb, F, G, A, B).

Also, there is not P5 interval.

It is symmetrical, which is a wonderful thing.

The guidelines do say "a couple of minutes" but I don't think there's any harm in going over. Please don't feel there's any sort of huge time limit barrier. I put in "a couple of minutes" sort of casually because in the first few challenges I think there were concerns about people feeling their entries were too short, and I wanted to reassure them that shortness is A-OK. In other words, the goal doesn't have to be to create a symphony based on the theme.

Thanks Sean, but I'm long enough in the tooth to know why keeping a piece relatively short and getting the listeners attention quickly is a commercially successful ploy. This is my dry sense of humour getting me in trouble again.

PS. I'm not bothered about the whole tone key so everyone will just have mark me down as they see fit

No, no, it's not your dry humor, it's my desire to blather all the time...

In fact, my desire to blather comes from a... oops! Blather.

P.S. Whole tone is just normal tone in disguise...

Well Sean, that's my entry completed but I ain't sending it in yet. I'll listen to it again and again 'til I'm sick of it before posting

I hope everyone else is busy and cute because I'm really trying this time.
I've taken about six hours this time round.

    Ray
