    Marche de Morte

Well, Marche de Morte is not complete. And with it so is the orchestral suite of which it is the final movement of. Here it is in all its glory.

I will post a link to a recording of all 5 movements of the suite when I work out what I am going to name it. In the mean time, enjoy.

    Mike,

This is some fantastic music. A lot of dynamics in this and a lot of nice suprises:

    1. The huge sound at 2:00 the horns, the trumpet, the strings they all blend so nicely
    2. The dark horns at 2:37
    3. At 4:10 you switch to woodwinds instead of bringing the whole orchestra back in introducing a whole new dynamic and feel.
    4. At 5:30 the cello solo and eventually the lone cello at 6:00

What a fantastic piece of music and very well rendered.

    Cheers,
    Kenny

Quite a serious piece of music. Very emotive and dynamic. Sounds great!

Interesting! Kenny hit many of the same high points
that stood out for me as well, Mike.

This is superb writing, Mike... powerful without being
over-powering, beautifully paced -- crucially important
with writing of this character; and the performance
characteristics, the "conducting", are dead on the
beam, throughout. I also particularly noticed the
very close attention to phrasing throughout -- to
me, that's likewise make-it-or-break-it on a piece like
    this.

That section starting around 4:30 is just gorgeous,
by the way -- I went back over that about six
times... and likewise for much of the highly lyrical
'cello writing thereafter. To me, that solo passage
really makes the whole work, brings it into focus,
provides a perfect contrast before moving into the
    tail section. Perfect ending, too.

    Excellent!

    My best,
