    Another Kontact Player 2 question

Well I installed both the solo Cello & Violin the other day and noticed 2 things of concern.
1st - the files load painfully slow.
2nd - I can't run the new player at 3 / 128 like I've been able to do with the old player (GPO & JABB) - I'm getting clicks and pops.
I have to set it at 3/256 which makes the live feel a little sluggish - even in stand-a-lone mode.
I'm using an RME 9652 card along with Saw Studio which works perfectly with the old player.
Any chance an update will correct these 2 issues?

I thought I'd add a few more complaints about the latest Kontakt player.
When I stop the playback some times notes will hang and keep playing.
Some times the Strad stops playing and the only way to get it to play again is to reload the samples.
Over all - so far this player is a piece of crap.
The old player though it has less features loads much quicker and is more solid.
I like to work quickly - load sounds cut the track & move on.
I can eat lunch in the time it takes the cello & strad to load.
I sure hope these issues are addressed quickly.
As sloppy as it is I believe it will eventually start affecting the sales and good reputation of the Garritan libraries.

Can you give more stats on your system?

The latency on my Core 2 Duo system with an EMU 1212M is about the same as the old version. It takes 15 seconds for both the cello and strad to load.

Did you try restarting the Engine instead? If that doesn't do it, a switch of audio driver usually does.

If you hit the notes between the keyswitches and the bottom playable G note, then you will get silence. Just hit one of the keyswitches and you should get the sound back.

My system is a Pentium 4 - 3.2Gig - 3 gb of DDR 400 ram, SATA hard drive for the Garritan stuff.
Seperate drives for OS & audio files.
RME 9652 audio interface card with Apogee converters.
No problem getting the old Kontakt player & Ivory piano to run at 3/128.
The new player needs to run at 3/256 to be pop & click free.
It seems to me that NI is going backwards with their new player.
I was all set to buy the full version until these problems popped up.
I have also noticed some clicks on the latest version of B4 II that weren't there on the older version.
I'm thinking about going back to the older version.

Re: Another Kontact Player 2 question

I have both version installed on my system. There are some things that were fixed in the Kontakt 2 version plus easier access to controllers and a few other new features. Kontakt 2 in general has more overhead than Kontakt 1.5.3 which could be causing the extra latency. I think NI has spread themselves to thin with too many products and are not getting the current products working as good as they should.
