    Film score-ish music: ODYSSEY

This is somewhat an experiment in my first attempt at writing a Film Score style composition .

Utilizing 2 instances of GPO, EWGold, EWChoirs, Roland D-70, JV-1080, Korg O3R.

    ....comments are welcomed.

    Where's the popcorn?!

Jeff, I think this sounds great! What can I say, except I just love it. Film scores---they've long been the refuge for the grand, European style, Opera-influenced Big compositions that otherwise don't find too many homes.

I would say that your "experiment" is totally successful.

Quite an epic sound here! Definitely a successful "experiment". A very nice mixing of the libraries to achieve a sound that fits together. Great work!

Thanks for the comments, Randy and Sean.

    They're very much appreciated.

Struggled quite a bit with the mixing aspects.. still not sure i'm pleased with the final results.

... but it'll have to do for the moment.

This is really strong. The music has great dynamics and you keep things interesting by adding elements along the way like when the choir comes in.

All the different libraries blend together very well and the choir samples blended in wonderfully.

Wow What an experiment. This was excellent, really like the choir.

Really nice work in blending the different sound libraries together. Your "experiment" worked! Well done!

    Thanks, Kenny

I've read on a post that combining different libraries may not always a good thing. It was said that a string sample from an outside library would stand out too much, and not share the same resonance as the group.
    could be true..

still, with my poor equipment it's hard to tell.

    Thanks for the comments!

    Thank you very much, Kev

The choirs do sound nice, when done properly...(especially when made from more experienced musicians, lol).. I have a long way to go...

They are difficult to work with though, and very heavy in terms of CPU.

    Thanks again!

Thanks for taking the time to listen, Ted!, and for the positive comments.

I'm glad my experiment worked well.
