Special Woodwinds demo for Heckelphone and oboe d'amore
Here is a movement from a charming composition by 20th century New Zealand composer Edwin Carr entitled Waiheke Island. This piece is scored for an oboe quartet. From left to right in the stereo field you will hear the following instruments: oboe, english horn, and heckelphone and oboe d'amore.
Oboe is from VSL VI woodwinds I. English horn is from VSL VI woodwinds II. Both oboe d'amore and heckelphone are from VSL VI Special Woodwinds.

This is what Edwin Carr said about this movement: "Andante, the fourth piece is a set of variations representing the spirit of emancipation from urban preoccupations which pervades the pleasant atmosphere of the island. The formality of the variation form reminds the listener of bygone days when rustic living was a more important part of life."
