Lightbulb Great DAW Video Monitor Buy

    Extra Extra!

I believe some of you have been looking for video monitors for your DAWs. Buy.com has a great deal on 22' Samsung *widescreen* monitors. (I love me some widescreen! )

    $290 is a great deal!

[Edit] I originally put Viewsonic instead of Samsung Reason being, I was looking through various monitors and well, just blew it. I'm a fan of Samsung, hence the reason for the posting. Sorry for any confusion!

    Ben,
The Viewsonic is also a great monitor, thanks for adding it. I'm partial to Samsung, I like the coloration better, especially when it comes to blacks. However, both are great buys for no frills, good real estate widescreen monitors.

For those of you considering saving a few bucks and going 19 instead of 22 inches. Don't! I purchased 2 Samsung 19' widescreens and now when I look at the amount of extra screen for 22 inches I want to cry. There will always be good deals so save a few more bucks and get the 22 inches. It will get you both horizontal and (what most people worry about with widescreen) vertical viewing space.

Re: Great DAW Video Monitor Buy

i bought a crappy 19" widescreen star logic for like $100 at office depot. its not the best, but for DAW programs i can't imagine needing anything better.

if you wait and get them at the right time, office depot and office max have great sales - even on high end monitors (especially if you have a coupon)

Re: Great DAW Video Monitor Buy

After looking at those widescreen monitors in detail I decided for the Samsung SyncMaster 204B three weeks ago. Although it has only 20" its vertical resolution is higher with 1600x1200 pixel. That means more tracks. Also it has a pivot function which is great for scores.

Maybe sometime I will get a second one and pivot them both.
