Pavane Opus 50, written by Gabriel Faure... 1845 -1924
I copied this by ear for fun.
GOS strings and two Garritan Stradivari Solo Violins
one Garritan Gofriller Solo Cello
one JABB flute,
the rest is GPO...
one bass clarinet
three french horns
and Altiverb Konzerthaus Have A Listen
same link, new mix
Very nice indeed, it made me go back and listen to my short extract of it using JABB soprano sax for the melody and think I should have carried on and completed it without the vocal chorus from the version I listened to.
I know how good your mixing and recording is, so I'm happy to get close.
You've cheered me up as I take my antibiotics to clear my bronchitis.
I stopped reconfiguring my new system and listened to this piece.
You said you did this by ear. I am jealous about your so wonderful shaped ears. This is really nice and wonderful. As in the other replies: the tempo is rather nice and NOT a funeral march, although this piece often is used for funerals... I think nobody can do the same with music as you do.
Gee Dan, the opening melody is fabulous - how did you get the Strad to sound so much like a flute?
As always, your rendering is superb. The attention to detail is a great lesson for all of us - you show us what is possible, and for that you have our/my thanks.
But darnit - you keep raising the bar. I was about to get a stool to reach it, but now I need a very long ladder...
