    "Tocotta In F" (unfinished)

    Music Lovers,

Here is my unfinished "Toccata In F" on which I began work this morning. It is an adventure in tempi.

This is the JABB Steinway piano. I like the crispness of this instrument.

    Merry Crispness, everyone.

    Larry

(I inadvertently misspelled "toccata" in the heading of this post and there is no way to edit it. )

I thoroughly agree. I am almost exclusive with the JABB Steinway now and I am only a novice player. I think the sound reminds me of the one I used to write on in college and so it has sentimental value too (probably not the reason to turn to if for recording, but still...)

So, your piece is excellent, by the way. What's unfinished about it? I thought you ended it perfectly.

    Cheers!

    Hi Larry,

I agree with Drumroll/Paula - sounds finished to me. Intending to tweak a few notes, maybe? Not sure which ones you'd tweak since they all sounded good to me .

    I enjoyed listening.

Usually, a toccata is of longer duration than what I submitted to this forum. I have some ideas for the "front" side of it.

Thank you for the good review.

    Amazing work, Larry!

I've said this before.. you should compile a catalogue of works.. They would make terrific scores for study!

    The counterpoint is truly inspiring.

    Really enjoyed this work!

    Bravo!

I agree.. it sounds finished to me.. what else to add?

Many thanks to you, Mr. Jeff.

I will probably add some additional notes to the front of this piece as soon as I can. It just "feels" incomplete to me but it's no big deal.

    Larry,

I agree with Jeff. Your writing here achieves a bright, Scarlattian brand of polyphony that is great fun to listen to.

Yes, that J&BB Steinway is a truly beautiful sample.

That's the same term that a chick bestowed upon me last night. (Unfortunately, I am kidding.)

Thanks for listening, Mr. Dan. It's appreciated.
