Topic: Lament for the dying

    Arrow Lament for the dying

At one time or another in our lives, we all have had a loved one or someone close to us slowly slip away from life into death. Although this passing is never easy for anyone, we all hold fond memories of these individuals. My father was one of those who recently passed so I thought it would be nice to honor him and all the others we have lost.

This is a simple string quartet piece with some flute.

    Re: Lament for the dying

My condolences on the passing of your father, John.
This deeply thoughtful and reflective lament is, most
certainly, a fine remembrance with which to honor him.

    My best,

    Hi, John

Thank you for your post and beautiful tribute to your father. Your family has heard this, I hope? They surely must appreciate the loving expression of your music.

Note--I almost couldn't find your file on the Garritan MP3 page. It made it especially difficult because you posted it under a different name than last time.

Here--I right-clicked for properties to get the direct URL--this should work:

    Thank you, John

my condolences on the passing of your father, too. When I hear music whish was written for this reason, then I become always very thoughtful.

Some years ago I wrote also a music when I had lost a very good friend. ( http://www.garritan.net/player/ "guntherbombe-Klaus )
I posted it to the player because I was talking about the same theme with DPDAN, when I heared his melody he wrote, after he had lost Sparky. ( http://www.northernsounds.com/forum/...2&postcount=49 )

As Dan said, I think it is good to talk about our lost friends... . I agree with David`s words and: thank you for posting us this melody.

I whish you all the best,

    Re: Lament for the dying

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. I wanted to keep the piece simple and not "cluttered" to preserve the meaning. I'm glad the sound touched you as it did me when I wrote it.

Shaver, since I came back to hear this moving piece of yours again, I decided I wanted to also reply again so that more people can have the chance to discover it.
