    It's NAAM time!

June is National Accordion Awareness Month.

National Accordion Awareness Month was established in 1989 to promote the accordion, help spread the word about the resurgence in popularity in the accordion and to educate people about the accordion.

Gary - what a coincidence! I was just playing with the accordion sound in JABB - excellent!

Anyone interested in hearing some great accordion music in a film score should check out Amelie - or any score by Yann Tiersen.

My poor attempt at a generic tango from a few years ago:

    The Lovers' Game

    Yay Accordian!

    Belbin

p.s. Last year, a group of nearly a thousand accordianists broke the world world record for most accordians to perform together at once, and it happened right here in my home town! How cool are we??

I just spoke to an excellent accordionist and he said that this is real. It really is N.A.A.M.

\ Man Gary Don't DO that to me! I started scrambling for plane tickets for da cripes sakes!
I used to own an accordion but had to give it up because it kept gasping for air. Besides, I don't like buttons ...

I'm surprised they didn't mention that Benny Anderson (ABBA) started with the accordion and now plays traditional swedish folk music with one.

And speaking of the composer of the world's biggest musical, Meryl Streep is playing one of the leads in the upcoming Hollywood( Tom Hanks) version of Mamma Mia along with Pierce Brosnan and others.
