    Glass Harp samples?

    Hi everyone,

for a project I need the sound of a "glass being played"
(like you would with a glass-harp) so I was wondering
if such samples / sample library exists yet...

I'm not sure what a glass harp is, but if you just mean playing by rubbing a finger round the rim, then there's lots of libraries out there.

Bolder Sounds have a great set, which is available as a download in Kontakt format. It has both 'rubbed' samples and hits with mallets.

The Vienna Symphonic people have an amazingly extensive set of articulations, which used to be in a library called Glass and Stones - I think now you have to buy their 'Elements' Virtual Instrument to get the same samples.

Gary's GPO has a Glass Harmonica which sounds really nice.

Or there's the free 'Fake Glass Harmonica' (Fake because it was actually individual glasses rather than a glass harmonica) from the G-Town project. That got turned into a torrent a while ago. I just googled and found it here:-

but I can't vouch for the speed of the torrent or anything, since I downloaded these samples a long time ago when they had their own dedicated site.
