Gary, thank you, I've downloaded all of the entries, now I'll be listening for a while...
It's so exciting to hear these compositions, I feel like saying a big thank you to every partecipant, for taking the time to write these fantastic pieces on my theme.

Ah, finally time for Challenge 13!

Roberto, it was a great experience for me to hear all the creative variations people came up with for the Challenge 12 theme I wrote. I know you're getting that same kick hearing these variations of your #13 theme. This event is such fun!

Sean and Gary - I want to make sure I'm clear on what the voting rules are. We all remember there was confusion last time.

Is this a One Vote situation? I think so, since I don't see the fine print like last time, "multiple choice vote." I do notice that the poll results can be viewed before one votes--I think as a group we had shown a preference for Not being able to see the results before voting.

But could you let us know for sure about the number of votes? It would help us all out, avoiding confusion.

I've taken a listen to all of these and I am So impressed with the variety and talent on display!

    Hi Randy,

Yep, it's definitely one-vote-per-person this time, as a preference had been shown for. As for not being able to see the results, I don't think vBulletin (the forum software) has such an option (at least not the version this forum uses).

    Thanks for the info, Sean

Good deal that it's one vote. I do recall that being the consensus. And I think you did tell us before that it's not possible to hide the results before we vote, that's cool.

Really fun, the variety in these. Some pieces could be said to hang together as compositions more than others, with some being episodic series of treatments. But cohesion as a unit may not be an important criteria for all listeners.

It'll be interesting to have discussion after the voting closes in two weeks about what drew us to a particular version--what we admired enough to narrow our vote down to one entry.

Having fun, Roberto? I bet you are--Just listen to all this interesting stuff people came up with!

I know I won't win this one, but it was a nice theme to tease out and work with. Thanks!

There are some wonderful orchestrations! Congrats to all!

I've made two quick passes through all of these. Very good job to all and a thank you to Roberto for creating such an interesting theme. It's nice to hear a little more Jazz this time. I'll burn a CD of these later so I can listen a little more at my leisure.

    Roberto,

You've given me a laugh after my 26 hour delayed flight home from my holiday in Menorca. Not only was I not able to enter, I'm not able to ?
