Music from the Spicy Chicken and other adventures: The Christmas Fairy

I haven't posted any music in a reeeeeeally long time. Since I have a few moments I wanted to start sharing some of the stuff I've been writing for the Spicy Chicken Cards (www.spicychickencards.com) web site over the past two years as well as some other stuff like commercials, logos, etc.

The first piece I'm posting is called The Christmas Fairy. Enjoy!

    Hello Steve,

    I enjoyed it! It´s nice!

My only thought is, I would arrange it more rhythm played..., perhaps the bass and glockenspiel, triangel and bells here and there...?

    Great composition Steve!

    Hi, Steve

Thanks for the preview of Christmas--oh my, and Summer is still not very old.

Wonderful track--and a nice gig you have there with Spicy Chicken. Thanks for getting this up for us to hear what you've been up to--I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've heard your work. Loved it.

Nice little touch of Christmas here in July. Doing animated cards seems like a cool gig.

Wow, my past flashed before my eyes. Hot chocolate, snow fights with my Brother, the smell of pine, and of course all those wonderful toys! For me it was: Transformers. Guess what, I still collect them Anyway, thank you for the trip down memory lane. A wonderful Christmas song!

Thanks, everybody! Here's a link to the card that it accompanies so you can get an idea of how it was used. Like most of these cards, the music simply sets a mood and plays behind dialog. Also, they have to be written rather quickly so I often look at the music and think "hmmm, I shouda/coulda/woulda done this or that differently!". Oh, well.

Steve, for heaven's sake, show up around here a little more
often, would you? This is fine work!

95F here, today, and I could use a little Christmas Cool... lol.

    Seriously, good clean, clear, engaging writing in this, Steve;
with a real holiday feel to it and strong moments of dialogue.

    Well done!

It was real nice. I like it where you do the harp run and piano chords.

A nice holiday feel to it.

I did get a little fatigued from the bells going constantly. Maybe slowly fade them out somewhere towards the end.

    Hi David,

Thanks, I'm making an effort to participate a bit more than I have over the past few years. I've been lurking for a long time and really enjoying everyone's work!

Speaking of heat, this weekend I got trapped in Palmdale (CA) due to brush fires that closed all outgoing roads. It was about 110F in Palmdale! I definitely could have used some Christmas cool.

    All the best,
    Steve
