My first time using Garritan orchestra

This is not a full-on orchestra song, but i did a rock-instrumental, with a an orchestra playing along in the back ground (harps, piano, woodwinds, violins, and zylophone).

its really my first attempt in using garritan orchestra, so its not the greatest.....im sure once i get a grip on using it fully, it will sound better (more authentic/real).

    here it is..........

any feedback (good or bad) will be welcome!

    Hello, bkkornaker

Right off I have to say - I LOVE WHAT YOU'RE DOING!

--Ok, now a bit more subdued, welcome to The Listening Room and congrats on your first post.

This is Happening, this music. I was with you every second. And in terms of postings here in The Listening Room, this is a BLAST of fresh air, to say the least. This is FUn music, this is interesting, and authentically high energy.

I've gone into non-critical mode for the second time today, and I love that. Your use of GPO sounded totally confident to me.

I just want to jump up and scream and sway to the music.

    Right on - !

thanks for the quick replies, and the great compliments! Im trying real hard to get deeper into the 'personal orchestra' so make it sound even better, but as a first attempt at it, it seems to have gone real good!

as far as the "eventide harmonizer", ...no....i dont use one. the guitar itself was recorded "dry" with no effects, and only a delay effect was added in that track after the recording was done.

Cool! Tell that to Mr. Steve Way!

Randy, do you know Mr. Vay? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Lb9h0J_ajA

He is one of the first guitarman`s, like his best friend Joe Satriani, Steve Lukather, Eric Johnson...... .

yes, Steve Vai is a big influence for me, so is Joe Satriani...........you definatly hear it in my music!

When Steve Vai took a break from mainstream rock, and went torwards the "orchestral" side....thats what prompted me to find the best orchestra software on the market. And after hearing some samples and MP3's of Garritan, i knew that was the choice to make for my next purchase.

i wanted to see if my musical creativity is as wild as his!

    It is!

And Gary Garritan`s GPO is very very good for this.

Please understand me right: Your demo here is very excellent! You did a very good job with this!

My tipp now to you: Go your own way now and make your own sound, a special sound never heared bevore!

I am sure that you will make it very good! Do it!

All my Best, and please let me hear from you!

    Hey bkkornaker,

Welcome, and thank you for the "electric" journey and a brief intermission from the "all orchestral" work here in the forum! Very much enjoyed this. I play electric bass guitar and it was so nice to hear that you didn't leave it in the background only supporting the soloing guitar.

You definitely have market viability with your sound. Have you ever thought to maybe shorten the length and construct them more like songs then show pieces for your obvious talent? <--- Not a criticism just an odd thought that came to mind. Your work never lost me attention. Great job! And thank you for sharing.

Great job on this, Bryan... powerhouse playing and writing
that rivets the attention and maintains an unflagging drive
    from first note to last.

Great job! Symphonic rock is hard genre to make work - but here the orchestra is never too intrusive, and the guitar takes center stage, as it should. Fine playing, as well.
