I think I got a virus, caus mu tascam u-122 software is now corrupt, sonar will not work and Sibelius is locked.............my anti virus software is asking for an update but it will not install because of driver issues and Adobe flash player keeps wanting to install (which I do not want it to) but I select the install button anyways but I keep getting the box asking if I want to install it.......... On thop of this the Sibelius GPO ED updater is ready for download from Sibelius but my system will not cooperated..........I think that I'm in for a fun week.............Hey.......it could always be worse.........but I am going to try to fix it this week so I can get in on this challenge........
three year old E machine
GPO Sibelius Edition (now Liberated!)
GPO Personal Orchestra
GPO Jazz Band
2 Classic Guitar Degrees (or so I was informed)
Not a lick of sense!
Just a quick thing to check.. my AV software was in an endless loop of telling me I had to DL the latest update, even after I had just applied it. MSN also ceased to function.
Turns out I had accidentally changed my system date (ie double click on the time in taskbar). I fixed that and all was well.
If pro is the opposite of con lets look beyond this....the opposite of congress must be progress...
Ouch! Bummer, Cliff! - You can see why it's great if we can have a machine dedicated to music which we keep offline. I use a pretty old junked out Windows 98 machine for online stuff, and my Dell XP where I work on music is still an internet virgin. But--not always easy to swing having multiple machines.Originally Posted by truckermusic

Randy, you were the winner. OK, fine and surely you did a good job, but I missed it. Can you put a link to your winning stuff?

Hi, Raymond - Funny you should mention this. It had been occuring to me that these winning entries tend to get lost, buried on the voting threads, instead of ending up on a thread of their own.
I think it's great that people have been posting alternate versions of their entries in The Listening Room. I'm thinking maybe I should put up my entry there so at least "for the record," the piece I did won't end up more obscure than the other entries!
Meanwhile, here's the link to what I did. I gave it a title, "Here I Am" - for reasons you'll soon discover when you listen.
Thanks for asking, Raymond!

Thank you for the link. I listened to it and indeed it is a bit weird theme. I must listen to it a second time to get used to this..... I liked that "ambience"-sound during the whole piece (most of it).

Raymond, thanks for listening, but it sounds like you didn't listen to any of the Challenge 13 entries--? You're a regular here, I would've thought you were an active voter.
Here's the link to the voting thread for Challenge 13, you could hear the other Excellent entries--they're all still posted. The one you just heard from me is #7 on the list:
And if you look at the list of posts Old Bob has started (by clicking his name in a post) you could find where he posted the original theme we worked with.
You liked the ambience--Did it sound unusual? As I recall, I used varying degrees of a small Jazz club setting in the Garritan Ambience plugin, but didn't do anything unusual.
Meanwhile--Hope a TON of folks enter this fun contest!

Hmm... I think I might take a stab at this. I don't think I've ever shown any of my work to this community despite my constant lurking, the legendary Delete This thread, horrid failures at attempts to be funny, and the occasional controversial post.
