Garritan Brass Section sounds on Finake 2008

I just tried the new brass section sounds with a Finale 2007 file and they were very muffled (soft)....true, this was my first try, but are these the sounds that will come with the new library? Trombones, Euphoniums and Sousaphones were very blah with Finale 2008.

    Hi, Bill..
I take it from your "self-response" that you resolved your own question...probably by use of the modwheel or related procedure. I am actually quite pleased with the low brass & want to make sure people are getting the quality they deserve.

Please do let me know that all is now well, and how you got there. Please also ask if you have any more questions!

    Jim,

No I didn't; I was just remarking on the misspelling of my post.

Any help you can give in tweaking those sounds would be MUCH appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Bill

I assume you're using HP, yes??? If not, you should be!
Let's try bringing up the volume on the low brass in the Finale 2008 mixer.
Are you using the modwheel for dynamics? Where is volume set?

Any way you can send me the file you're working on? I use PC, not Mac, but the files should be interchangeable.
Try some of the above & see what happens.
If the file isn't a cosmic secret, I'll run through it & see what I can do!

I don't have 2008, but recently did a fresh new install of everything fo 2007, Finale 07 and it's 2007c update, GPO, KP2 and updates, etc. Then when i loaded a few instuments, it was playing at very low voume. I clicked on the Mixer from the "Window" drop down menu and found the master volume was set low. Just thought i would post that in case that is what the problem is on your set up.

Lol, Finake! Sounds like the Japanese version of the program.

edit: Oops, I see Jim already said check the Mixer. Sorry for the redundancy.

    David,

Thanks for the try, but the mixer master volume is set as it was and is fine with the pre-existing instruments; it's just the new sounds that seem to be playing much softer.
